JAMB Sets End-of-Year Deadline for 2025 University Admissions

JAMB Directs Tertiary Institutions to Conclude 2025 Admissions by December 31

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has instructed all Nigerian tertiary institutions to finalize their 2025 admission processes by the end of the year.

As stated in a bulletin from the board, public universities must complete admissions by October 31, 2025, and private universities have until November 30, 2025. All other institutions, such as polytechnics, colleges of education, and innovation enterprise institutions, have a final deadline of December 31, 2025.

JAMB said this directive is a result of the 2025 Policy Meeting on Admissions and is intended to stabilize the academic calendar and provide equitable admission opportunities. Institutions were told to comply with the deadlines, regardless of whether their academic sessions have started.

"Even where an institution is not ready to begin a new session, such an institution should conduct its admission and archive it," the bulletin read.

JAMB also urged institutions to conclude any ongoing post-UTME screening exercises promptly to meet the deadlines. The board warned, "By this directive, all admission processes must be completed within the prescribed timelines."
