Yobe State Governor, Dr. Mai Mala Buni, has announced that Tuesday will be a work-free day in honor of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR.
The governor issued this statement through the Director General of Press and Media Affairs, Mamman Mohammed.
Governor Buni encouraged the workforce and residents of Yobe State to spend the day in prayer for the peaceful rest of the deceased President’s soul. He also requested that Imams conduct prayers in their respective mosques for both the late President and the nation.
“The late President’s contributions to restoring security in Yobe State and the North East region are immeasurable, and he deserves this special honor from the people of the state,” Governor Buni said.
In a condolence message, Governor Buni described the late President as a great patriot who dedicated his life to working for Nigeria’s unity and progress.
He praised President Buhari as a disciplinarian, a leader with integrity, and a leader with a passion for national development.
The Governor prayed for Allah’s forgiveness of the late President’s shortcomings and for his soul to rest in Jannatul Firdausi.
Governor Buni extended his condolences to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, the family of the late former President, the Katsina State government, the Daura Emirate, and Nigerians in general, over the huge loss.
In a show of respect, the State Executive Council on Monday held a special prayer session for the late President instead of its regular weekly meeting.
